Kitui County presumptive Governor 2027 Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua, CBS, was back in Kitui East Constituency over the weekend for a Sunday church service at AIC Ndooni and later held organic public engagements at Ndooni and Makuka Markets, reaffirming his long-standing relationship with the constituency.
This was Senator Wambua's fourth visit to the vast constituency this month — visits he has termed as 'home' visits.
"When I step into Kitui East, I feel very much at home. These people know how deep our relationship extends. They know I have stood with them in times of need, pain and crisis. They genuinely love me," Senator Wambua told residents at Ndooni Market on Sunday.
In both the 2017 and 2022 General Elections, Kitui East Constituency overwhelmingly voted for Senator Wambua. Residents have once again expressed strong support for his 2027 gubernatorial bid, citing his passion in ending the common and unique problems facing many wards in the constituency.
"We want our Senator to become the next Governor of Kitui County so that the suffering we go through here can end completely. Insecurity and wildlife invasions will end when he becomes our governor. We also want good and modern ECDE schools, markets and health centers that are working," a resident at Makuka Market told locals during a public baraza on Sunday afternoon.
Kitui East remains a stronghold for the presumptive Kitui County Governor, with support cutting across from rival politicians eyeing Ward and MP seats.
The sitting MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai of UDA has already declared in broad daylight that he will ensure he delivers Enoch Kiio Wambua as Governor with every power and force at his disposal. This is the same energy affirmed by a majority of Wiper aspirants for Ward and MP seats, including sitting Wiper MCAs in the constituency.
"It's time to declare my stand on the Governor seat. I shall deliver my friend Enoch Kiio Wambua as the next Governor of Kitui County in 2027, either dead or alive," Vocal Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai of UDA posted on his official Facebook account in May this year.
"I follow Kiio on everything he does because I see in him a better vision for Kitui East under his leadership as our governor," Kitui East WPF MP Aspirant Militonic Mwendwa Kitute told church faithful at AIC Ndooni on Sunday.
The same sentiments were echoed by Wiper's only MCA in Kitui East, Endau/Malalani MCA Dr. Erastus Mbuno, who also doubles as the Kitui County Deputy Majority Leader.
"Our Senator has fought so hard to ensure our county has adequate resources to finance our projects. Let's congratulate leaders who perform when given chances of leadership. He's one of them. He fights so much to ensure Kitui County is at its best," - Dr. Mbuno told MCAs during a County Assembly plenary contribution last month.
