Friday, August 22nd, at his Kyondoni home in Kabati, Kitui West, was a masterclass in consultative leadership.
The day began with an honourable engagement with the Council of Elders from the Tharaka Community, Tharaka Ward. Their counsel was profound, their wisdom timeless. They spoke of unity as our strength, development as our right, and a shared future for a greater Kitui County. Tharaka Ward is a land of resilient and industrious people, and their voice will be central in the new Kitui.
The momentum continued with a warm courtesy call from residents of Nzalae, majority from AIC Lwale, Mwatungo DCC. In a candid exchange, they underscored the indispensable role of the church as the moral compass and a formidable partner in driving community transformation and cohesion.
The day climaxed with a robust consultative forum with Youth Representatives from Mwingi Town. Hon. Wambua delivered a resounding message: Under my administration, the youth will not be on the sidelines; they will be at the centre of power. Effective August 10, 2027, when he assumes office as the 3rd Governor of Kitui, his government will unlock opportunities through structured empowerment, sustainable jobs, and direct inclusion in decision-making.
This is not politics as usual. This is people-driven leadership. This is a blueprint for a new Kitui.
